Ok.. now this is something I’ve recently learned of.
You can make site fully in Flash. I use Macromedia Flash 8 and somehow I missed the fact that websites can be built fully in flash. I’m learning that there are pros and cons involved as there is with anything. But the biggest setbacks that I’m seeing I think are load time and searchability from search engines versus an HTML site.
Does anyone have any info on this? I can’t seem to find much out there when I search the web.
Also, if Flash sites are harder to make search engine friendly, how does that apply to HTML sites with flash elements integrated?

100% Flash sites cannot be optimized for SEO.
HTML/Flash site can be optimized so it’s effectively the same as a “pure” HTML site. It takes a good coder to make this happen though. Sloppy code is the primary reason for sites not coming up in the top listings. As the number of sites grow.. Spiders, bots, crawlers and all the other “bugs” I have no idea about become more lazy and only scan the candy shell of a site and move onto the next.
I’m interested in hearing what someone that is truly versed in this area has to say about this. I’ll have my notepad ready!
